There are many ways to volunteer.  

You do not have to be a PTSA member to volunteer.  Here is a list of volunteer opportunities throughout the school year:

Fall

Back to School Nights - help people sign up for PTSA membership and volunteering opportunities; in August

​

Picture Days - help hand out student picture tickets at back to school night in August and picture retake day in October

​

Heritage Days Parade - Donate candy and/or walk in the parade with VVMS; in September

​

Parent-Teacher Conferences - Donate food to feed the staff during conferences when they don't have time to get dinner.

​

Fall Donation Drive - Help plan and distribute flyers for our main fundraiser of the year.  100% of the donations go to support the school: in November/December

Winter/Spring

Journey Fundraiser - Partner with the school to raise donations to provide food and veterinarian services for VVMS's therapy dog, Journey.

​

Parent-Teacher Conferences - Donate food to feed the staff during conferences when they don't have time to get dinner.

Spring Restaurant Fundraiser - Help plan and advertise

​

District Wide Food Drive and Penny Wars - Help plan, advertise and run the food drive and Penny Wars that support our Bloomington VEAP food shelf; in April

​

Spring Staff Appreciation Meal - Donate food to thank our staff for their hard work all year long; in May

Ongoing Opportunities

Translate - Help by translating flyers, emails and announcements into other languages.

​

Volunteer On Call - Sign up to get email or texts alerts for when we need extra helpers.  You can help when it works for your schedule.
